PETALING JAYA:
A woman had clung to the bonnet of a car to prevent her husband from driving to Teluk Kemang as she was concerned for his health, police said.

Deputy Port Dickson police chief Mustafah Hussin said the 32-year old woman was worried that her husband, 58, was not fit to be behind the wheel as he had just received treatment at a hospital in Negeri Sembilan.

The Indonesian couple had since explained to the police that prior to the incident – which was caught on a video that went viral – they had a heated argument at home after her husband insisted on visiting their child in Teluk Kemang.

The husband ignored his wife and decided to drive, Mustafah said.

“She got on a motorcycle and tracked the husband down to the traffic light junction.

“She then got off the motorcycle and clung to her husband’s car bonnet,” he said in a statement.

Mustafah said the couple had since apologised for their actions.

A 35-second clip featuring the woman clinging to the Proton Wira at a traffic light junction made the rounds on social media earlier today.
