The duo, ranked sixth internationally, won the first game with ease but lost the second. They came back strong in the third game.
They will play either China’s world No 11 ranked Liang Weikeng-Wang Chang or South Korea’s Kang Min-hyuk-Seo-Seung-jae for the title on Sunday.
For Aaron and Wooi Yik, today’s win was sweet revenge after having lost to the Indonesian pair three times in a row before this, at last year’s Malaysian Masters, and the Thailand and Swiss Opens.
The head-to-head score between the two pairs is 4-3, in favour of the Malaysians.
At last week’s Malaysian Open, the Malaysian pair lost in the second round.
Meanwhile, world No 8 Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan failed to make it a double joy for Malaysia when they were beaten by Japan’s world No 2 pair of Nami Matsuyama-Chiharu Shida 14-21, 16-21 in the women’s doubles semi-finals.
