Police name last three victims of fiery road crash

Dental records help police to identify the driver and two passengers who burned to death in a road accident near Kuala Kangsar.

Dental records have helped police to establish the identities of three more university students who burned to death in a fiery accident on the North-South Highway on Wednesday night.

Kuala Kangsar police chief Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob said the three students
were the car driver, Muhammad Nasrun Aidol Munir Akbar, 22, from Kuala Kubu Baru, Selangor; and rear passengers Muhammad Nabil Haikal Muhammad Fariz, 19, from Bandar Baru Selayang, Selangor, and Iqbal Hasnun Halimi, 23 from Senai, Johor.

“The remains are expected to be handed over to the next of kin after the completion of the identification process shortly,” he said today.

Last night, two other students were identified by their family members after a post-mortem examination. They were Ahmad Akmal Ahmad Mokhlis, 20, from Parit Buntar, Perak; and Ahmad Naim Najmi Ahmad Hafizan, 21, from Kemaman, Terengganu.

The five students were in a car that was involved in an accident with two trailer-lorries while heading north on the highway.
