KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s AirAsia Bhd aims to sell its leasing arm, valued at about $1 billion, in early 2017, the airline said on Thursday.
“Bids are coming in December 2016, with an eventual sale to take place in early 2017,” group CEO Tony Fernandes said in a statement after the company reported third-quarter results.
The company said it is also planning initial public offerings (IPOs) for its AirAsia Academy flight crew training centre and for ASEAN Holding Co. The academy would be listed in Kuala Lumpur, while ASEAN Holding Co would be listed in Hong Kong, Fernandes said without indicating timeline.
