PETALING JAYA: Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, is a now the proud owner of a replica of Fred Flintstone’s iconic car in the famous cartoon series, The Flintstones.

The car was a gift from the Pahang Regent, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

A post on the sultan’s official Facebook page said the vehicle, which was inspired by the one in Hanna Barbara’s cartoon, has a motor and is expected to move on its own like other four-wheeled vehicles.

In the cartoon series, the main character, Fred uses his feet to move the vehicle.

The vehicle was presented to the sultan by Tengku Abdullah’s official representative, Manjit Abdullah, at the Istana Pasir Pelangi yesterday.

“And, just in case it rains, the car comes complete with a makeshift cloth ‘roof’ with a cut-out back screen in lieu of an actual rear window,” the post stated.

Sultan Ibrahim is said to be a fan of The Flintstones, with Fred Flintstone being his favourite cartoon character.
