Arya, the ‘chocolate fudge brownie’ kitty

Sweet-natured and friendly, Arya's unique colour sets him apart from others.

Arya’s dark brown fur makes him stand out in a crowd of kitties.

Priya adopted Arya when he was a tiny kitty. Because of his unique colour, she firmly believes that one parent among his ancestors was either an Oriental or Havana cat. “He has the most beautiful dark chocolate fur I have ever seen in Malaysia,” she remarks.

He has the sweetest of personality too, Priya says, explaining, “Arya is the most loving and clingy kitty I had ever fostered out of the 15 kitties I fostered at different times during college. He has never hissed at me, not even once.”

As a kitty, Arya was a live wire and always came running when he heard his name called.

Despite how tiny he was, Priya remembers him having the loudest of meows and never being able to sit still for a minute. “Little Arya loved to play – strings, balls, anything he could get his paws on.

“He was also very responsive to his name and would come running whenever I called out for him.”

Arya had the habit of following Priya around the house “like a baby chick following its mother”, Priya says. Having a truly pleasant personality, Arya also got along well with her friend’s black and white cat.

Sweet natured Arya was kindred spirits with his roommate, a beautiful black and white cat.

Unlike most cats who tend to be finicky eaters, Arya happily gobbled everything he was fed, making him so easy to care for. He was also one for cuddling.

“Arya would sleep on my chest sometimes with his butt facing my face ugh.. every single time! But he was just too sweet,” Priya says.

Unfortunately, Priya had to make the heartbreaking decision to give up Arya because of a pet dog her family had back home.

Arya has a curious and wise face and the best of personalities.

“Sweet Arya was adopted with the intention of making him my permanent kiddo as I was almost graduating. I was supposed to bring him back home to meet Keshu, my family’s dog. Little did I know about Basha who was a surprise addition to the family.

“Unfortunately I had Arya for only six months and had to give him up because Basha was too aggressive.”

Here’s wishing you all the best, dear Arya in your new home.

A constant companion to Priya, Arya would even accompany her while she did her coursework.
