Several years down the line and Morbites has its own brick-and-mortar store in the bustling neighbourhood of Kota Damansara.
So, what exactly has been buoying Morbites’s success? That’s simple enough – its lip-smacking burgers.

What’s not to love about good food at good value!
Happily, it’s something Morbites has perfected from its buns and sauces to its patties and condiments, all of which are concocted in-house.
And now, down to the business of choosing your burgers.
If you’re feeling a tad overwhelmed by the sheer number of burger choices on the Morbites menu, zero-in on the Chez Burger. It’s the bestseller here.
One of the simpler options, you’ll nevertheless be left licking your lips in satisfaction.
The beef patty is juicy and made more flavourful with slices of tomato and cheese smothered in generous lashings of mustard pickled mayonnaise and onion jam. Needless to say, the sour and sweet flavours work magically together.

If you’re looking to spice things up, the Chilli Chez Burger is the hotter sibling of the Chez Burger, with spiced Mexican meat sauce giving the already tasty burger even more of a kick.
The level of spice sits perfectly between bland and spicy, so it’s certainly worth giving this burger a try.
The Hannibal Burger may raise eyebrows, and funnily enough, it does pluck its name from the movie “Silence of the Lambs” as the masala-marinated patty is lamb-based.
Infused with rich flavours, this burger is served with grilled eggplant, mango chutney mayo, cheese and crispy lettuce.

The Taj Lamb meanwhile incorporates Malaysia’s ever-popular chewy and tasty roti canai as a substitute for the run-of-the-mill burger bun.
Filled with juicy lamb and slices of fresh lettuce, the curry mayo alone is worth giving this strange but scrumptious “burger” a try.
You can never go wrong with chicken burgers, and Morbites would be happy to stuff you with its Hail Caesar Burger comprising a single breast patty speckled with chilli flakes and slathered with creamy Caesar dressing.
Little wonder why this burger is also among Morbites’ best-sellers.

Should you be vegan or vegetarian, fret not as there is something delicious awaiting you too in the form of Morbite’s Beyond Meat vegetarian patty, topped with guac salsa and vegetarian cheese with a serving of onion jam.
Even if you happen to be the most voracious of meat lovers, you would be pleasantly surprised as this burger is just as savoury and satisfying as any meat-filled patty.

With Raya season in full swing, the people at Morbites have graciously concocted their own rendition of Nasi Lemak, all time Malaysian favourite.
With a crispy piece of fried chicken marinated with spices, the fragrant rice also comes with a spicy sambal that is rather out of this world.
Nachos aren’t half as common on Malaysian dining tables as fries but the version served at Morbites enjoyed with beef con carne – a spiced meat stew – it’s a definite game-changer.
Have a sweet tooth? Then you’ll love their Choco Loco with chocolate ice-cream, crushed cookies, chocolate chips and almond flakes.
Or would the classic Vanilla Surprise take your heart instead? With vanilla ice-cream, frozen banana and crushed cookies, it’s not hard to see why.
Maybe the Mango Tango would be that sweet craving to fill that hole in your heart. After all, it’s made with vanilla ice-cream, fresh mango puree, mint sauce and sago.

Speaking to FMT, John Tey, co-founder of Morbites, explained that his passion for food brought him to work with his partner, Amer Ezzadeen. Together, they opened Morbites in 2019.
After starting out with a simple food stall in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, he and Amer later acquired a food truck which is still in operation today.
“Food has always been my passion and it brought us together,” said Tey, explaining that studying in the US made him fall in love with burgers in a big way.
“We want to offer more gourmet burgers at low and value prices in more neighbourhoods in the future.”
