Step inside and you’ll find a cosy, minimalist space dressed in soft lighting and muted tones. With its airy layout and serene atmosphere, the noise and pace of the outside world seem to fade away almost instantly.
“OGA Tea & Dining has a modern Japanese-inspired dining concept that blends refined Japanese culinary techniques with a contemporary approachable dining style.
“Our identity centres around ‘tea-inspired’ dining, where premium Japanese tea culture meets thoughtfully-curated dishes,” Pak Wong, the operations manager of OGA Tea & Dining, told FMT Lifestyle.
Here, customers can look forward to a range of teas imported from Japan including Sencha, Houjicha, Genmaicha and Gyokuro.

Whether you are dining with a group or enjoying a solo meal, the menu offers a tempting selection of mains, light bites and desserts, all prepared using ingredients sourced from halal-certified suppliers.
There are also seasonal highlights like the Musang King Kyoto tiramisu and the matcha Musang King Kyoto tiramisu, described by the café as “Malaysia’s first Kyoto tiramisu”.
OGA Tea & Dining has been recognised several times for their fare, and earned a Malaysia Book of Records award in January for the “most number of Kyoto tiramisu boxes sold in a year”.
“We carefully designed our menu by maintaining the foundation of Japanese flavours while subtly adjusting taste profiles to suit Malaysian preferences. This includes balancing richness, sweetness and umami so that dishes remain authentic and enjoyable,” said Wong.

The salmon chazuke, a traditional Japanese comfort dish, is this writer’s favourite. It features a generous portion of grilled salmon steak seated on a bed of rice and served alongside tea dashi, a light and fragrant broth.
To best enjoy it, pour as much of the tea dashi as you like over the salmon and rice before digging in. The combination of warm broth, rice and fish makes the dish especially comforting, while the wasabi, seaweed and other accompaniments add extra layers of flavour.
Instead of salmon, customers can also opt for Australian beef steak, gindara or black cod fish and unagi (grilled eel).
The chicken katsu curry, meanwhile, is a hearty offering on the menu, pairing juicy breaded chicken with rich, flavourful curry and fluffy rice.
The set also comes with takoyaki (a crispy ball-shaped snack made with octopus) as well as a light soup with clams, tofu and seaweed, making this a balanced and scrumptious meal.

The matcha Musang King Kyoto tiramisu gives the classic Italian dessert a Japanese and Malaysian twist.
It features layers of matcha mascarpone, ladyfingers soaked in matcha and Musang King durian pulp. Smooth in texture, the dessert is well-balanced, with the matcha’s earthiness pairing nicely with the creamy sweetness of the Musang King.
Available only for a limited time, this is one dessert durian lovers should not miss.

The Torori matcha cheesecake is another delightful dessert worth trying. Light and velvety, it is not overly sweet, allowing the rich matcha sauce to shine.
As for drinks, the refreshing iced Midori matcha is a perfect choice on a scorching day. Made using Uji matcha, the creamy beverage carries subtle earthy notes of matcha without being overpowering.
If you prefer something warm, the Rei Sencha is a good choice. Light and smooth, the tea carries gentle umami notes with a subtle sweetness.
Overall, OGA Tea & Dining offers more than just a meal – it provides a short and sweet escape from the bustle of everyday life.
