“Ola Bola” rakes in RM8 million after 13 days of screening

Malaysian movie based on national football team’s bid to make it to 1980 Olympics draws multiracial crowd to cinemas.

KUALA LUMPUR: “Ola Bola”, which debuted in Malaysian cinemas on Jan 28, has raked in RM8 million after 13 days of its screening, producer Astro Shaw said today.

Directed by Chiu Keng Guan, the movie is about the Malaysian football team striving to make it to the 1980 Olympic Games.

The film stars Jc Chee, Luqman Hafidz, Saran Kumar Manokaran, Marianne Tan, Katrina Ho, Bront Palarae and Frankie Lee.

The movie opened on Jan 28 in 126 cinemas nationwide. It had raked in RM2.5 million at the box office within four days.
