PETALING JAYA: Sarawak has opened its civil service to Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) holders from Chinese independent schools, The Star reported today.
Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem said today the state civil service would start a recruitment drive through advertisements via the media tomorrow.
Adenan said UEC graduates could also apply for jobs in state government subsidiaries and statutory bodies.
He pointed out that a pass in Bahasa Malaysia was sufficient for UEC holders to apply for civil service posts.
He also said UEC holders in Sarawak universities could apply for financial assistance from Yayasan Sarawak.
