In a report by the Star Online, the company announced on Friday that over one million of its customers have had their data quotas upgraded permanently for free overnight.
MaxisOne customers with a 1GB plan will now receive 5GB, while those with 3GB have been upgraded to 10GB. Customers with a 5GB quota will now receive 15GB and those with an allowance of 7GB have been upgraded to 20GB.
Customers can use the MyMaxis app to check for the upgraded data.
Maxis will also offer entry point subscribers of the MaxisOne postpaid package 5GB of data at RM48, while premium subscribers will see their data quota almost doubled with an increase of 13GB of data.
MaxisOne subscribers will also be able to use the new DataPool feature to share data with their family or on other devices.
DataPool will also work for those travelling overseas, enabling users to take their local data quotas overseas and receive unlimited international calls when roaming.
Those wishing to add more data to their pool will also be allowed to add an extra line for every 5GB for just RM48. Customers will also receive an extra 5GB for video streaming if they choose to stream videos on iFlix, ErosNow, Viu and Hopser.
The move comes following media controversy surrounding Maxis’s loss of over a million customers in the past 12 months to competitors, over complaints that the company excluded loyal customers in its newly launched incentive.
The announcement was made by Maxis CEO Morten Lundal at Menara Maxis, who said at the launch of the new postpaid package that he was confident of winning back loyal customers, Malay Mail Online reported.
“I think we can win them back,” Lundal told reporters.
