PETALING JAYA: The government is mulling cutting by half the hour-long lunch break during Ramadan  so that civil servants can clock out earlier to break their fast at 7pm.

According to  The Star Online, Chief Secretary to the Government Dr Ali Hamsa said he would raise the matter up in the Cabinet for consideration.

“This only applies during the fasting month to allow Muslim staff to leave the offices earlier,” Ali was quoted as saying.

He also gave an assurance that operations at government offices would not be affected by the move.
