SUNGAI BESAR:
Recapturing the Selangor state government is the next target for Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Najib Razak after a resounding by-election victory here last night.

“Recapturing Selangor begins in Sungai Besar, we give the momentum for BN to regain Selangor, we fight as a strong team and not lose focus towards the next general election,” he said last night. “This is not about the Umno election, it’s about the next general election.”

The party leader said the by-election victory had proved that the ruling coalition was accepted by all communities.

BN candidate Budiman Mohd Zohdi was elected with a 9,191-vote majority over his closest rival. In 2013, the BN candidate was returned by a majority of only 399 votes.

Najib reminded party members not to consider their tasks to be completed after BN’s landslide victories. They should continue to go to the ground to be with the people.
