An FMT report entitled “Perth migration deal: Malaysian firm under fire” had mentioned that The Sunday Times newspaper in Perth had reported that despite the WA Government telling Kitson to stop using State Government logos on its advertisements, Delfante had been using it to make presentations at seminars held by the company.
These seminars in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Penang had apparently been encouraging people to seek permanent residence in Australia by investing in a Perth property group called Yaran Property Group (Yaran).
In the statement to FMT, Kitson said the presentations provided by Delfante were important to ensure that participants had got the correct facts about WA.
“The presentations provided by Delfante of the Western Australian Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) are very helpful in Asian countries in ensuring the participants in these events get the correct facts in relation to Western Australia and the excellent potential that exists in this state for overseas investment, and Western Australian State requirements for nomination of Business Migrants, and for Delfante to answer any questions from the participants,” it noted.
Kitson denied any allegation that Delfante might be in cahoots with either Kitson or Yaran.
“Delfante has never endorsed Kitson Migration Advisory or Yaran Property Group. He has always acted most professionally when business migrants have asked him about Yaran.
“He has always clearly advised potential investors that the SBDC is not endorsing Yaran, and he encourages everyone to make their own independent investigations of Yaran and to look at Yaran’s past history and consider all the relevant facts before making a decision.
“Likewise, he has never endorsed Kitson Migration Advisory or advised anyone to use the services of Kitson.”
