Zulkifli Awang said the menteri besar was just feeling unwell and had been admitted to the National Heart Institute (JIN) at 1.30pm today for a routine check-up .
“As Datuk Seri had informed Rembau Umno delegates at their annual conference today, he did not feel too good and felt that it could be that the ulcer medication given to him by the doctor could have been of too high a dosage.
“This caused his stomach to be upset. Thank God, he is stable,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
He was responding to rumours that went viral on social media that Mohamad was now critically ill and had been rushed to IJN after opening the Rembau Umno meeting.
Zulkifli added that Mohamad was admitted to IJN on the advice of doctors at the Negeri Sembilan Chinese Maternity Hospital (NSCMH) who were the first to treat him.
“Doctors at NSCMH advised Datuk Seri to be monitored at IJN because all his health records are there,” he said.
Meanwhile, in a WhatsApp message later, Mohamad said he had only experienced a dizzy spell and not as spread on social media.
“I am OK, thank God. I felt a little dizzy because the ulcer medication was too strong.
“I asked to be sent to IJN because my health records are there. The doctors told me to rest and stop taking the medication,” he said, adding that a lack of sleep and rest could have contributed to the situation as well.
