According to LDP Youth Chief Tsang Hieng Yee, “Superman” was scheduled to speak at a September 16 function, organised by DAP, in Sandakan. He expressed the hope the people will stay away from his Malaysia Day talk in the east coast city.
Hew is noted for inciting the “politics of hate”, charged the Youth Chief in a statement carried by The Star.
“He uses vulgar words in his speeches,” said Tsang. “He criticises anything non-Chinese.”
The former DAP leader, belaboured Tsang, had a habit of insulting the government. “This will corrupt local culture. It’s bad for the Gen Y to listen to him.”
Sabah is the wrong place for the former DAP leader to turn up, pointed out Tsang. “If we can ban Perkasa Chief Ibrahim Ali, we can ban him too.”
He said he considered both politicians as cast in the same mould except for Hew wearing clothes with the “superhero” logo.
The LDP also wants DAP to explain its continued relationship with Hew after the latter’s stand on the South China Sea. “He had to leave the party after urging everyone, in a Facebook posting, not to dispute China’s claim to the South China Sea,” recalled Tsang.
There’s suspicion that DAP has not really cut its ties with “Superman”, continued the Youth Chief. “It’s probably a case of selective ‘tie-cutting’.”
Selective “tie-cutting” also explains the present relationship between DAP and PAS, he claimed.
