State Islamic Affairs, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Abdul Malik Abul Kassim said the hospital would be build on land belonging to the Penang Islamic Council (MAINPP) in Bayan Baru.
“The proposed Penang Islamic Hospital will be located at the junction of Jalan Mayang Pasir 1 and Jalan Mayang Pasir 2, Bayan Baru, on a 10,265 square metre site,” he said during the winding-up debate on the Penang Budget 2017 in the state assembly yesterday.
Abdul Malik said the 14-storey hospital building, to be built at a cost of RM280 million, would include 200 in-patient rooms, seven floors for parking, teaching rooms and commercial space.
The hospital would focus on medical services and facilities for paediatrics, gynaecology, endoscopy and cardiology.
