Flash floods hit Seremban after 3-hour rain

PETALING JAYA: A three-hour downpour in Seremban caused flash floods in many areas of the town this evening.

Many people have taken to Facebook to post videos and pictures of the flood that has affected Taman Galena, Jalan Tun Dr Ismail, Jalan Dato Sheikh and Jalan Tuanku Munawir.

Pictures show cars stranded in the knee-high water which also flooded houses and even a mall.

Many states are experiencing heavy rainfall, although not as severe as the one in Penang which flooded many areas and claimed seven lives last weekend. More than 6,000 people in Penang were also evacuated from their homes.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued severe weather and widespread thunderstorm warnings today on their website.
