Zuraida, who is PKR’s women’s chief, believes the services she has provided will satisfy Ampang people.
“Hence, people will keep supporting us.”
Zuraida said she was always ready to contest again in Ampang or at any other place, adding that it would be an honour to do so.
“This time, it is really important for us to keep Ampang with us as we’ve vowed to wrest Putrajaya.
“We need to keep what we won in the last general election and fight to wrest other seats.
“We must retain Bukit Antarabangsa and try to get Lembah Jaya, which is served by a PAS representative now.
“We will do a performance review and pick the right candidate to contest the seats held by PAS in Selangor,” she said.
Zuraida is a two-term MP from PKR. In the last election, she won with 41,969 votes against Rozaidah Talib from Umno who obtained 28,691 votes.
In 2008, she won the seat with 26,995 votes against Azman Wahid from Umno who received 23,319 votes.
Even though the possibility of a three-cornered fight is high, Zuraida said the chances of PH winning were high.
“We have always been in a campaign mood. We are close to the people on the ground.
“We only have certain problems regarding policies by the federal government towards foreigners.
“In Lembah Jaya especially, there are many foreign workers, including Rohingya, Indonesians and Iranians.
“There are unclear policies on houses and dormitories for these foreign workers.
“I have been raising this issue with the federal government in Parliament so they can set up a body regarding this but there has been no response yet.”
Zuraida said the voters in Ampang know her well. She was confident any past issue or scandal involving herself won’t affect the chances of PH winning in this general election.
