In a joint press statement with the respective branches, the committee said the resolution to renominate Lim and Boo for the seats was passed for the second time in a meeting yesterday.
According to committee chairman Lee Chee Hiang, the resolution was unanimously passed for the first time on Jan 11 and the message conveyed to the central executive committee.
Lee expressed hope that all quarters, including the top party leadership and state leadership, would respect the committee’s stand on the matter.
Boo meanwhile said he was willing to stay in Skudai and team up with Lim in the state.
He added that he had no intention of running for any parliamentary seats.
Recent reports claimed that Boo had been offered the Labis seat in exchange for the Skudai state seat which he has held for two terms.
When contacted, Johor DAP chief Liew Chin Tong confirmed that the central leadership had offered Boo the Labis seat twice over the past two weeks.
However, he declined to comment further on the matter.
Any move by Boo to Labis would have seen Mengkibol assemblyman Tan Hong Pin going to Skudai and Johnson Chew Chong Sin standing in Mengkibol.
However, Boo dismissed speculation on the matter, saying he had declined any proposal to contest anywhere other than the Skudai state seat.
According to the statement, he also denied a strained relationship with Tan, urging all quarters including the DAP state and central leaderships to respect Tan’s wish to re-contest in Mengkibol.
“Boo believes that removing Tan to another constituency would jeopardise PH’s chances of winning in the Kluang parliament and respective state seats. But he is confident that the DAP top leadership will have the wisdom to make the right decisions,” the statement said.
