Tian Chua to quit PKR?

A leadership problem in PKR may result in the departure of vice-president Tian Chua.

PETALING JAYA: PKR vice-president Tian Chua is speculated to be quitting the party, following problems with the leadership. He is expected to hold a press conference later today on the issue.

However, he denied any knowledge of an internal party crisis and would only say that he would most likely not defend the Batu seat, adding that more will be revealed in the press conference.

It was reported that PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had rejected eight names proposed by deputy president Azmin Ali as election candidates.

The Star had also reported that the eight included Tian Chua, Dr Tan Kee Kwong (Wangsa Maju), Yaakob Sapari (Kota Anggerik), Hanizah Mohd Talha (Taman Medan) and Gan Pei Nie (Rawang).

Also reportedly rejected were Azmin’s press aide Hilman Idham, who was proposed for Gombak Setia state seat, and Azmin’s trusted aide Khaled Jaafar, who was proposed for the Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat.
