Don’t air grouses in public, says Khairuddin
Rafizi Ramli should go through proper party channels in criticising the naming of three ministers, he says.
PETALING JAYA: Former PPBM member Khairuddin Abu Hassan has urged PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli to voice any dissatisfaction with new Cabinet appointments through Pakatan Harapan’s internal channels.
He said Rafizi should be more “professional” than resort to airing the matter in the media.
“Why does Rafizi Ramli have to express his discontentment through the media? What is his real motive?” said Khairuddin who unsuccessfully contested the Jasin parliamentary seat under PKR’s banner at last week’s general election.
He questioned if Rafizi intended to damage PH unity and make the people lose confidence after Pakatan’s victory, which resulted in the Barisan Nasional losing power.
“We have an internal platform and channels in the party (PH) that he can use to express his views behind closed doors,” Khairuddin said in a statement today.
He added that the PH leadership should take disciplinary action on whoever criticised the pact without using proper internal means.
Yesterday, Rafizi questioned why no PKR member was present at the meeting of coalition party leaders to fill Cabinet positions.
“PKR assumes that the discussions are still under way and no final decision had been made,” he had said. He also said all such decisions must be made by consensus.
Mahathir had named PPBM president Muhyiddin Yassin to be the home minister, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng to be finance minister and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu to be defence minister.
PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was already named as deputy prime minister after Mahathir took his oath of office as prime minister on May 10.
