“The clause allows the postponement of elections at the Supreme Council level within a period of not more than 18 months from the date it was supposed to be held on April 30, 2018,” he said in a statement today.
Tengku Adnan said Umno received RoS approval of the extension of the election in a letter dated Oct 31, 2017.
Tengku Adnan said that in line with the RoS decision, the Umno Supreme Council had set the date of its annual convention and that of its Youth and Puteri wings from today until June 10.
He said Umno divisional meetings will be held on June 30, adding that the meetings will be conducted simultaneously with party elections at all levels.
