Many dead in Sepang bus crash

SEPANG: Ten people have been confirmed dead after a bus transporting workers plunged into a ravine near the MASKargo building in Sepang last night.

Police said the incident happened at about 11pm.

KLIA district police chief ACP Zulkifli Adamshah said nine of the victims, comprising eight foreign workers and the bus driver who is a local, died on the spot.

Another victim, a woman of foreign nationality, died at Hospital Sepang where she had been taken for treatment, he told Bernama.

More than 30 other passengers have been taken to Hospital Serdang, Hospital Putrajaya, Hospital Banting and Hospital Kajang.

Police said the bus was bringing 43 foreign workers from their hostel in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, to MASKargo.

“We are still investigating the incident,” Sepang police chief Zulkifli told Bernama, adding that the case is being investigated for dangerous driving under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act.
