In a Facebook post, Kadir questioned Johari’s credibility after the former Titiwangsa MP listed the three issues affecting investor confidence and the economy.
On Saturday, Johari listed the fundamental issues affecting the economy as being the question of Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s successor, the government’s flip flops and the lack of clarity in Putrajaya’s decision-making process.
“Wasn’t he the former finance minister II during the Najib Razak-kleptocracy era who also made decisions which saw the country suffering losses?” Kadir, the media adviser to Mahathir, asked.
“Wasn’t he among those involved in Felda’s purchase of Eagle High Plantations shares at a very expensive price?”
He said Johari’s name also appeared in the independent audit report on the transaction, adding that his name was now being linked to Felda Global Ventures dealings.
Kadir said he heard from those in News Straits Times Press and Media Prima that Johari, an Umno Supreme Council member, was heavily involved with the media group’s restructuring.
“That’s strange because apparently, Umno has sold all its shares in Media Prima. So how can an Umno Supreme Council member still be involved?”
He also questioned Johari’s criticisms of Putrajaya over the Council of Eminent Persons, which was disbanded after 100 days following PH’s win in the 14th general election.
“What is there to raise? Or does he have interests and a role in the sale of government-linked companies in the PH-era?
“This is the mystery which must be answered,” he said.
