PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has established a fund for Covid-19 patients who have been quarantined.
Launched with a RM1 million grant from the government, the fund is intended to provide financial assistance to patients who are undergoing the 14-day quarantine required under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.
The fund will provide RM100 daily to those who have no fixed income or are not being paid throughout the duration of the quarantine period and treatment.
After chairing his first Cabinet meeting earlier today, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had announced that the fund would be especially helpful for patients whose work has been affected due to being placed under quarantine.
Those interested in donating can do so by depositing money to the Tabung Bantuan Bencana Negara account managed by the Malaysian National Disaster Management Agency.
The account number is 1601-0001138-71-4 (Bank Muamalat)
