Sabah Covid-19 Centre chairman Safar Untong urged local businesses to register their businesses on the site to allow the SabahTrace mechanism to work in their premises.
He said SabahTrace also eliminates the use of logbooks that are being provided by businesses at present.
A quick response (QR) code ID would be issued for the businesses to print out and for the customers to scan upon visiting their stores, he said.
The shoppers need only to register their names and handphone numbers.
Safar said a similar system is used by restaurants such McDonald’s and also by Maybank for cashless payments.
