Foreigners in car park assault video barred from leaving country
Police say checks reveal they are still in the country.
KUALA LUMPUR: The two foreign nationals who were featured in a viral video showing a security guard being assaulted at a car park in Wangsa Maju, near here, will be barred from leaving the country.
Bukit Aman CID deputy director (investigation/legal) Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said an investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect were Nepalis, aged 26 and 35.
“We have applied to the Immigration Department to bar them from leaving the country, and checks revealed that they are still in the country,” he said.
On July 31, a 44-second video went viral on social media showing a man slapping and hitting a security guard with a truncheon.
Following the incident, police began tracking down the victim and suspect.

According to police, the incident occurred at a condominium car park at Jalan Madrasah in Wangsa Maju on July 7.
