
The new cases pushed the total number of infections to 9,274.
Of the new infections, two were imported cases, involving Malaysians returning from the Philippines and the United States of America.
The local transmissions meanwhile were all detected in Sarawak, involving two Malaysians and three foreigners.
Six patients were discharged, with total recoveries now at 8,965.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there are 184 active cases, with eight being treated in the intensive care unit and five in need of respiratory assistance.
No new deaths were recorded and the death toll remains at 125.
Noor Hisham went on to say that while no new cases were detected in the Tawar cluster, the ministry was screening close contacts.
To date, 3,436 individuals have been screened, 65 of whom tested positive, with 54 from Kedah and 11 from Penang.
