Shafie said people just need to comply with orders from the authorities and observe the SOPs to prevent the spread of the virus.
“The state government is distributing face masks to all voting centres.
“Do not worry, fulfil your responsibilities as voters but always remember to comply with the SOPs and orders,” he said during the Majlis Ramah Mesra with Warisan leaders in Kampung PPRT Sabah Baru Peringkat II last night.
Also present were Warisan candidates standing in the polls, including Mohamaddin Ketapi, Dumi Pg Masdal and Assaffal P Alian.
Shafie, the Warisan president, said the government had taken a number of measures to assist the poor, including giving land grants and identifying villages that will be gazetted, including Kampung PPRT Sabah Baru Peringkat II.
“This (gazetting) process will take time but we will manage it as best we can and as soon as possible after the elections,” he said.
He reminded the people that the polls were crucial in determining the future of the state and its people.
They should, therefore, vote wisely and decide the direction the state should take for the benefit of the people.
“In the two years that Warisan has governed the state, they questioned us about what we’ve done. I can say that we have not built skyscrapers or highways, but we have successfully united the people and achieved the articles under the Malaysia Agreement 1963,” he said.
