Penang CM, Excos to restrict movement following Covid-19 scare

This follows confirmation that a videographer who covered the CM's event was in close contact with a Covid-19 patient.

Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said he is waiting for results of a Covid-19 test taken by a videographer.
GEORGE TOWN:
Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and his state executive councillors, along with other state officials, have decided to restrict their movements after a videographer had been in close contact with a Covid-19 patient.

The videographer covered a press conference, attended by Chow, at Komtar.

Chow said the videographer had gone for a swab test today and the result was not known yet.

He urged those who attended the press conference to stay at home pending the test result.

Chow said the Health Department had since told his office that an order to quarantine would be only issued after the videographer tested positive.

“Those who attended the press conference have been told to cut down on their outdoor activities and stay at home for the time being. We will be in touch with the health department to keep track of the videographer’s test results.”
