
The women, family and community development minister was screened for the virus last night at the health clinic in Putrajaya.
She was admitted to the Sungai Buloh hospital at 11am today to undergo further monitoring, according to a statement issued by her ministry.
“She would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused,” the statement read.
Yesterday, minister for economic affairs Mustapa Mohamed tested positive for Covid-19, his office confirmed.
Mustapa, the Jeli MP, tested positive after being screened on his arrival in Kota Bharu from Kuala Lumpur yesterday morning.
He is being treated at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II in Kota Bharu.
Before this, other top government officials who contracted Covid-19 included religious affairs minister Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri and deputy environment and water minister Ahmad Masrizal Mohamad.
