Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,503 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 312,461.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 328,466.
There are 14,782 active cases, with 155 patients being treated in intensive care and 54 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the three deaths take the number of fatalities to 1,223.
The new cases today involved 1,207 local infections and six imported cases. Local cases comprised 866 Malaysians and 341 foreigners.
Selangor reported the highest number of cases with 353, with 272 infections detected at clusters and from close contacts.
This was followed by Sarawak (303), Johor (142), Penang (104), Kuala Lumpur (79), Sabah (73), Perak (39), Kedah (38), Negeri Sembilan (23), Kelantan (20), Terengganu (15), Pahang (14), Melaka (eight) and Labuan (two).
No cases were reported in Putrajaya and Perlis.
All three deaths today involved Malaysians – two men and a woman – between the ages of 59 and 82. The two men had existing medical conditions.
