PETALING JAYA:
Senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob has said that the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) affecting Kampung Tringgus, Bau in Kuching, will end tomorrow as scheduled.

In a statement, he said the health ministry had recorded only four positive cases from the 55 screenings conducted there.

“The health ministry has confirmed that there is a downward trend in cases and the cluster is under control. There are also no more pending test samples.”

Speaking on the arrests made yesterday, he said only six people were detained yesterday, all of whom were issued compound fines.

Four of them were fined for failing to wear face masks while two were fined for failing to provide materials for the registration of customers.

Ismail also said the authorities arrested 49 illegal immigrants and seized one vehicle and a boat under Op Benteng.

Enforcement agencies had set up 262 roadblocks as part of border monitoring operations.
