Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,058 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 319,842.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 335,540.
There are 14,454 active cases, with 148 patients being treated in intensive care and 62 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the six deaths take the number of fatalities to 1,244.
Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 625.
This was followed by Johor (161), Sarawak (140), Penang (100), Kelantan (65), Kuala Lumpur (64), Sabah (60), Kedah (51), Melaka (45), Pahang (38), Labuan (14), Negeri Sembilan (10), Terengganu (seven) and Perak (four).
Perlis and Putrajaya did not record any cases today.
The new cases today involved 1,375 local infections and nine imported cases. Local cases comprised 870 Malaysians and 505 foreigners.
There were 37 cases from prisons and immigration detention centres today. There were 29 cases at the Jalan Harapan prison, five at Tembok Pengkalan Chepa, and one case each from the DTI Sepang 2, Jalan Awang and Telok Mas clusters.
All six deaths today involved Malaysians aged between 56 and 85. All but one suffered from existing medical conditions.
