Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,270 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 335,162.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 350,959.
There are 14,509 active cases with 186 patients being treated in intensive care and 94 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the two deaths bring the number of fatalities to 1,288.
There were 1,342 local infections and seven imported cases. The local cases involved 988 Malaysians and 354 foreigners.
Sarawak recorded the highest number of cases with 419, of which 382 were detected from clusters and from screening of close contacts.
This was followed by Selangor (343), Penang (185), Johor (95), Kuala Lumpur (73), Sabah (68), Kedah (32), Perak (24), Labuan (22), Negeri Sembilan (20), Kelantan (18), Putrajaya (17), Melaka (15), Pahang (11), Terengganu (six) and Perlis (one).
Prison and detention centre clusters contributed 191 cases, with 159 alone from Tembok Sri Aman.
This was followed by the Jalan Harapan prison (26), Tembok Mempaga (two), DTI Sepang 2 (two), DTI Juru (one) and Tembok Tapah (one) clusters.
The two deceased were Malaysian men aged 76 and 78, both of whom had existing medical conditions.
