Their mother, Minah Ma’min, 69, died at 1.40am, while their father, Mahamood @ Omar Muhammad, 71, died at 3am at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

The couple lived in Kampung Tanjong Che Mas, Tumpat, Kelantan.

According to their daughter, Zuraida Mahamood, 32, her parents were soulmates because they had always been together.

“My mother was admitted to hospital two weeks ago after a fever and was later confirmed positive for Covid-19.

“My father, who remained at home, also showed the same symptoms before being taken to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital,” she said according to a Berita Harian report.

Zuraida said all her siblings did not have the opportunity to talk on the phone with their parents, and their conditions were updated through photos sent by hospital staff.

Their parents were buried side by side at the Kubur Dato Muslim cemetery in Kampung Dalam Rhu today.
