PETALING JAYA:
Up to 70.5% of Malaysia’s adult population, or 16,492,295 individuals, have been fully vaccinated as of yesterday, the Covid-19 vaccine supply access guarantee special committee (JKJAV) said.

In a Twitter post, the committee said 37,392,241 vaccine doses have been administered, with 20,943,582 getting at least their first dose.

This includes those who received the single-dose CanSino vaccine.

A total of 329,452 vaccine doses were administered yesterday, of which 192,414 were the second dose.

In terms of the total population, 64.1% have been given at least one dose of the vaccine while 50.5% have been fully vaccinated. Also, 89.5% of adults have been given at least one dose.

While vaccinations of adults in the Klang Valley and Labuan have exceeded 100% for the first dose, the immunisation rates of the adult population in Kelantan and Sabah were the lowest at 72.2% and 63.7%, respectively.

The vaccination rates in the Klang Valley and Labuan exceeded 100% as the statistics department’s population statistics had not been updated since the last census. It also did not take into account undocumented migrants.
