Girl found ‘living’ in car for 3 days, family’s whereabouts unknown

A 10-year-old girl found “living” by herself in a vehicle for the past three days in Taman Suria was finally rescued by members of the public, with the police in the midst of tracking down her family members.

The child known only as Sarah was brought by members of the public to the Penampang district police station for assistance.

Penampang police chief Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the girl did not have any identification documents but was believed to be Suluk based on her response to some questions.

Haris added that the local community’s cooperation was needed to help the authorities track down the girl’s family members or caretaker.

“Anyone with information on the matter or who knows the child can contact the Penampang district police headquarters at 088 712222 or come directly to the station,” he said.
