KOTA KINABALU:
Outspoken Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) activist Zainnal Ajamain has died, believed to be due to a heart attack, early today.

It is understood that the Warisan adviser died at his residence in Damai Luyang at about 3am today.

A close friend of Zainnal, Michael Peter Govind, confirmed the news when contacted and said his body had been sent to hospital and he was expected to be buried today in Putatan.

Meanwhile, Warisan secretary-general Loretto Padua Jr said Zainnal’s passing was a great loss for the people of Sabah.

He said Zainnal’s efforts to further study the provisions in MA63 and fight for the rights of the people of Sabah would continue to be remembered by Warisan and the people of the state.

“When Warisan formed the government, we gave a platform to Zainnal to continue his efforts to fight for MA63.

“Actually, he (Zainnal) was not a politician. No matter who was in the government, he was consistent in his efforts to fight for MA63.

“On behalf of Warisan, I would like to offer my condolences to his family, and hope that they persevere during this difficult time,” he said.
