Penampang police chief Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the customers were fined a total of RM123,000 and the operator RM25,000 for breaching SOPs under Phase 4 of the national recovery plan.
He said the four-hour operation started at 1am and was carried out after receiving information from the public that it was operating past the permitted hours into the wee hours of the morning.
Police found the music blaring and customers busy enjoying themselves without any regard to the SOPs.

“The customers were not adhering to physical distancing rules. Many had also not bothered to scan their MySejahtera app,” he said.
Haris said the patrons were fined RM1,500 each.
He warned the public not to visit entertainment outlets that break the rules.
He said police would continue to monitor nightspots in the district.
