The death toll in the massive floods that hit parts of the country has risen to 46.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said Selangor recorded the most number of deaths with 25, followed by Pahang (18) and Kelantan (3).

“Five people are still missing and we hope to find them as soon as possible,” he told a press conference in Taman Sri Muda, which was one of the worst-hit areas in Selangor.

Meanwhile, Acryl Sani said police received 15 burglary and vehicle theft reports in flood-hit areas nationwide from Dec 17 to 24.
