3,386 Covid-19 cases, 5 clusters

The total infections now stands at 2,761,472 cases.

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry has reported 3,386 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,761,472 cases.

He said 3,547 patients had recovered, while 273 patients remain in intensive care, 202 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 71 suspected of being infected; 159 patients required respiratory assistance, with 86 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 73 suspected of being positive.

There were 3,040 local infections today, involving 2,895 Malaysians and 145 foreigners, and 346 imported cases.

Of these, only 1.4% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.

Noor Hisham also said five clusters were reported today.
