Cops to probe Myanmar man’s death in hospital 3 days after arrest

An investigation will be opened on the demise of the foreigner who was in custody on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle.

Police say the hospital has not informed them on the cause of death.

Bukit Aman’s integrity and standards compliance department will investigate the death of a Myanmar national who died at Hospital Kajang early this morning.

Department director Azri Ahmad said the deceased was arrested on the evening of Jan 30 after he was accused of stealing a motorcycle.

The next morning he was sent to the hospital after he said he was feeling ill and was subsequently warded.

“At about 1.05am today, the hospital informed the police that the suspect had died.

“The cause of death is still unknown,” Azri said in a statement.
