MCA Youth national vice-chairman Chua Hock Kuan said coalition parties and their allies may fight one another to push for their own candidate to be chosen.
“Once polling day is over, will PH, PKR, Muda, Warisan and Pejuang battle each other to have their man to be MB?” Chua said in a statement today.
Power struggles between political parties after the elections would affect political unity in the state, and “result in Johor lagging behind other states,” Chua said.

He questioned how the parties could reach a consensus on their MB candidate as they could not even agree on using a common logo for the Johor elections.
PKR is campaigning under its own logo while Amanah and DAP are contesting under the PH banner.
Chua said PH has unveiled and promoted its manifesto but there has been no mention of their MB candidate,
He said that the contents of PH’s manifesto were identical to the manifesto announced earlier by Barisan Nasional and showed that “PH aims to hoodwink voters once again”.
Johor Amanah chief Aminolhuda Hassan maintained that its pledges were different although the coalition’s manifesto for the Johor elections may look similar to those of other coalitions.
