JOHOR BAHRU:
Malaysia-Singapore stage bus services are expected to resume at normal levels of operations on May 1, transport minister Wee Ka Siong said today.

At present only 24 buses are being used, as part of the land vaccinated travel lane (VTL) with six shuttle buses for border crossings.

Land transport officials are holding discussions on the number of stage buses to be used, and questions about maintenance and inspections, he said.

“We are still using VTL buses for the next two weeks,” he said. “The bus service is expected to be restored to pre-Covid-19 levels,” he told reporters after witnessing the reopening of the Malaysia-Singapore border today.

Wee said 4,435 Singapore-registered vehicles had entered Malaysia by 4pm.
