JOHOR BAHRU: Johor Umno chairman Hasni Mohammad is ready to be a parliamentary candidate at the next general election.
However, he said he would leave it to the party’s top leadership to decide on the matter. “I am ready to serve and to continue to serve, ” he told reporters after chairing the state Umno meeting yesterday.
Hasni was the menteri besar in the previous state government until the state assembly was dissolved for state elections.
He was re-elected to the Benut seat with a majority of 5,859 votes. Hasni had previously been elected as the Pontian MP in 2004.
