Santiago said an inspector at the Klang Selatan district police headquarters recorded his statement today on behalf of the Bukit Aman police headquarters, which was leading the investigation.
“The report was taken by one Insp Azzaty. She was informed by Bukit Aman to take my report. It was a cordial meeting,” he told reporters outside the police station.
“She said the report would be sent to Bukit Aman because others have lodged similar reports against Apandi.”
FMT reported yesterday that Bukit Aman’s classified investigation unit (D5) had started an investigation into Apandi after receiving three reports against him.
In his report on Wednesday, Santiago alleged that Apandi had abused his power while he was the AG under the Najib Razak-led government.
He referred to High Court judge Azimah Omar’s remark that Apandi’s delegation did not meet or speak to the alleged Saudi royal family donor despite saying otherwise at a media conference on Jan 26, 2016.
Azimah made the judgment dismissing a defamation suit filed by Apandi against DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang.
Apandi was in the spotlight again recently after he was reported to have acted as a “middleman” in talks between the government and fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho.
