Boy falls to death from baby chair at restaurant

Police say the two-year-old kicked the table, causing the chair to flip and his head to hit the floor.

The incident happened at a restaurant in Taman Sutera, Johor Bahru, while the boy was out enjoying a meal with his family.
JOHOR BAHRU:
A two-year-old boy died after falling from a baby chair in a restaurant at Taman Sutera here yesterday.

Johor Bahru Utara deputy police chief Fariz Ammar Abdullah said the incident occurred at about 3pm while the boy was eating at a table with other family members.

The boy, who was at the table in a baby chair, pushed the table with his foot, causing the chair to flip and the boy to hit his head on the floor.

Fariz said the boy’s father took his son to a private clinic, which then advised him to bring the boy to a hospital due to the child’s serious condition.

The father took his son to a private hospital in Iskandar Puteri, where a medical officer pronounced the child dead, he said.

The boy’s remains were sent to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the actual cause of death.

Police have classified the case as sudden death.
