
The divisions which convened today all unanimously agreed with the motion.
In Kelantan, Machang Umno division chief Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub said the motion was among the six motions unanimously passed.
Besides that, another proposal was to support efforts to create harmonious relations and solidarity between Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Ismail for GE15, he said.
Other motions agreed upon were to speed up the establishment of a royal commission of inquiry into the allegations made by former attorney-general Tommy Thomas, in his memoir, and re-evaluate the method of appointing judges.
In Johor, the same motion to support Ismail was also taken by Umno divisions in Tenggara, Pontian, Parit Sulong, and Tebrau.
Tenggara Umno division head Dr Adham Baba said the division also wanted the country’s leadership to improve the existing socio-economic structure to better serve the needs of the people.
Parit Sulong Umno division chief Zulkurnain Kamisan said the division supported all efforts to unify the Umno leadership for BN to win in GE15.
Delegates also gave their support for Barisan Nasional’s main election theme of stability and prosperity as it was also used during the Johor and Melaka state elections.
Johor Umno Youth leader Hairi Mad Shah said the wing would intensify the use of social media platforms to approach young voters.
The Larkin assemblyman said social media could also be used effectively to rebut allegations thrown at Umno and BN.
The Umno divisional meetings, which began yesterday, will end tomorrow. They involve 191 divisions.
